There are two male yellowhammers who hang out on a stretch of cut hedge on my morning walk. I often detour in the off chance they’ll be perched there, in all their cadmium finery.

A station of herons, Isle of Skye. Looking forward to returning there this summer.

Hazel catkins. They’re at their finest in February. I’ve been having fun spotting the tiny female flowers too - like sea anemones in miniature, tucked up against each twig.
